It's high time I make good on explaining what's to come of this place.
As I stated here PWN as it existed here is no more. I've decided to combine it with my personal promotion Evolution Wrestling to create Pro Wrestling Evolution (PWE). So now comes the question of all questions: Why? I'll tell ya' why.
Let's call a spade a spade...roleplaying sim E-feds are a dying breed. The medium is long past it's prime. The level of work needed to keep one afloat is hefty. It takes time, resources and management that many of us don't have anymore. We're all older now. We have jobs. Personal lives. Families. We can't devote the time and effort to E-feds in 2017 that we could back in 2007. Even before the hiatus, PWN was in steady and inevitable decline. We had only a handful of consistent handlers writing for multiple characters. Trying to maintain the quality we had in our prime was daunting, and in no way do I want to even try to rekindle that...because we can't. Those days are gone. I've come to that realization, and I'm ok with it.
So, where does that leave us? Simple...it leaves PWE with a new path in front of it. The path of a CAW show. I've toyed with this idea for a while now, even as far back as when PWE was XWA Overload. The idea is simple. Take a handful of PWN legacy characters and start over in CAW show format. That of course brings up a bit of a dilemma: Who the hell is left? There are a lot of creators who contributed to PWN that have long since left the community. Some, like Matsuyoshi312 left the legacy of his characters to trusted friends. Others like Levelx82 have pretty much retired, taking their creations with them. This leave the legacy roster of PWN in question. As of me writing this, these are the characters I know exist in 2k17:
Adam Devlin
Jimmy Ames
Kris Cade
Ethan Bain
Finesse
Tommy Tryton
Scott O'Dell
Blade Myers
Mark Spirals
Ashley Diamond
Helena Troy
As you can see...that's not very many. Not even remotely. DAMN sure not enough to put a show together without it being flooded with my own characters...which I don't want. Basically, PWE needs new blood. We need characters. Brand new or returning. Characters that fit the brand we've built here. It's going to be a while before I can actually put something together for that one reason, but rest assured I'm working on reaching out to people. Seeing if I can get permission to recreate characters, and trying to get a working roster together. So that's where things stand now. As progress is made, this thread will be updated.
