What's GM's Choice Matches you ask? Something I've been meaning to put into play for a long, long time. Given the scope and way that PWN is shaping up, it's an idea that benefits everyone. But enough pleasantries, here's the way it'll work.
The majority of the member base here is 21 and older. Most of us jobs, relationships and a few of us even have children. Basically, we all have lives outside of the forum, and it's rare everyone will be able to be on all the time. While it won't be as frequent and rampant as elsewhere, there's also those people who can't come up with storylines or angles, or find opponents to work them with. Now, PWN's roster has balanced out so that there's almost a completely even distribution of face and heel characters. This affords me the platform to implement GM's Choice. Simply put, I'll match characters that aren't in major storylines up against each other in Universe mode, and let the game do the rest. The impending results of these matches will carry over into the next show naturally, and the handlers of the characters are free to RP from the results as they choose to bridge what's going on, but they're not obligated to. There in lies the genius of it.
In a nutshell, it's a means for me to keep characters who aren't being used in the mix, or matching up characters and handlers who aren't working an angle. For the season premiere show, I already have a couple matches planned for GM's Choice, and they'll be added to the card shortly. If anyone has any ideas on how to further improve the concept, feel free to post it here.
