At long, LONG last, I'm finally deciding to pull the trigger on Attrition next month. Attrition will as explained in the Attrition board be decidedly different then Collision, but even more so with further ideas that I and the PWN brain trust have come up with. 1st off, Attrition matches will have NO continuity with Collision matches. Think of them as two completely different leagues under the PWN banner. Why the separation you ask? Simple. Attrition will have it's own roster.
Yes, you read correctly. Anyone on the Collision roster, unless approved by myself to appear on Attrition, will NOT be allowed to compete on Attrition. No exceptions. Attrition is the international show, so the roster will reflect that. The focus is European/Strong Style/Lucha Libre characters. Characters can be from the US, but they MUST fit the mold of those three styles. (If you have to asked what entails being a European, Strong Style or Lucha Libre styled character, don't even bother with Attrition) Unlike Collision, which will travel the globe during the course of it's seasons, Attrition takes place exclusive in Japan and Australia, so the venues used will predominately be the same for each event.
As far as role playing goes, Attrition is being structured to emulate Pureso in all aspects. Anyone who's familiar with Puro knows that the focus is on what happens in the ring, not on the mic. So RPing between characters doesn't have to be structured like it is on Collision. It can be as simple as a character challenging another during the show, and the other accepting later in the show. Does this mean elaborate storylines aren't encouraged? No. It just means they're not needed, because Attrition is more about performance then it is performing. I do expect there will be a couple full on storylines (Hell, I'm going to be in one of them).
The championships of Attrition is where the most change is being made. I'm completely scrapping the original system completely. Why? There will only be one championship, the PWN Global Championship. How does an Attrition character qualify for contention? By simply being an Attrition character. As Attrition will likely be once or twice a month, and have a VERY small roster, there will pretty much be a title match at every show. Your characters performance in previous shows will determine if you're next in line for a title shot.
There will be a cap of 20 male characters for Attrition, no females. At this point, it's more important to establish continuity where it will be more abundant, and that's with male characters. there WILL be a female division on Attrition, but that will be way down the road. As mentioned above, the requirements of all characters is that they MUST fit the characteristics of European wrestlers, Strong Style wrestlers and Luchadores, and you MUST be able to upload your character. We will not, repeat NOT be accepting formulas for Attrition characters, period. The point is to get the roster gathered, and get a show done. Not be bogged down by having to build CAWs from formulas. Registration for Attrition characters will be opened during the course of next week, and anyone submitted a character is expected to have their character READY AND UPLOADED upon completing the registration.
